Telos Tarot of 777 is a Thoth based tarot deck of astrological decan magic, ritually created for magical and talismanic purposes. This is the most recent tarot created by M.M. Meleen. Meleen made each card in a ceremonial process, during a corresponding astrologically relevant time, in a process spanning several years. It's a talismanic tarot, hand-painted in traditional art materials, ceremonially created with astrological timings through the decans.

The minors were created during the corresponding astrological decan. The zodiacal Majors were made during the astrological month of their signs. The planetary majors were made utilizing planetary days and hours, and other alignments. The elemental majors were keyed to specific applicable astronomical events.

This is a deck of astrological and decan magic. The 36 minor cards of Telos Tarot of 777 follow the magical descriptions of the astrological decans. They were originally sketched and then inked during their respective corresponding decan over a full year period. They were then painted in color during the appropriate decan in a subsequent year-long process. These unique images of the decans as seen in the minor cards are precise renditions of the “Magical Descriptions of the Decans” in Crowley’s seminal reference book, 777. These descriptions mostly align with those of the 11th century book of celestial magic, the Picatrix, though there are a few deviations.

The majors and courts were also done during relevant astrological timings, making the creation of this deck a process spanning almost five years.The art was created by hand using illustration techniques and traditional art materials of ink and nib pen, paint, and colored pencil, without any digital process or AI influence. Each card was painted in the colors of the Golden Dawn color scales for the card. Complex geometric designs were done by hand with drafting gears.

TELOS is a philosophical term defined by Aristotle as the final or highest end, goal, or inherent purpose of a thing. The telos of a seed would be the adult plant it eventually becomes. The telos of a thing, or a person, is an ultimate reason for being the way it is, its reason for existing, what it was made for, and what it does when it fulfills its full potential. But what is the telos of tarot? What grows from this tarot is individual and produces many possible scions, offshoots of purpose, such as:

• Self-knowledge: Know Thyself
• Forecasting: Know the Future
• Talismanic Magick: Willfully Create and Change Yourself and Your Future

The goals of Telos Tarot of 777:

For this project, the aspiration was to make a tarot especially suited for magic, by having:

• major arcana that actually truly follow the "correct design" descriptions of 777 (per the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn)
• minor cards that reconcile the "magical images of the decans" in 777 (based mostly on the Picatrix), to traditional tarot images and meanings
• all painted with the precise colors of the Golden Dawn color scales
• all created and worked on during their corresponding appropriate astrological periods

These cards are not clones of the RWS or Thoth. Though they are Thoth based in structure, they have their own original designs; though there are a few purposeful references to known tarot image archetypes here and there for fun. You will find their depictions easy to recognize, for they follow the traditional card symbolism and meanings. The minor cards also all have the correct number of elemental implements of their suit (Wands, Cups, Swords, or Disks aka Pentacles).

Telos Tarot of 777 was created with a purpose or end goal in mind: to create a tarot deck for talismanic objectives, with all 78 cards keyed to the exact magical descriptions, and created with ritual intent synchronized to appropriate astrological timings.
